Nancy O'Dell's debut job in the broadcast industry was as a reporter/anchor at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later, she was an anchor in the morning and a reporter at WCBD TV. The articles written by O'Dell in Charleston, about how the Charleston police acted in DUI cases in a manner that was lenient, led to an inquiry by State Law Enforcement Division. The investigation resulted a stricter instruction for the state's authorities. In the year 2000, Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with her Best Report of the year award for the entire South Carolina media. Following her stint in Charleston, O'Dell worked as a co-anchor for the NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and also as an investigative journalist. She then was hired by Access Hollywood to work as a weekday and weekend correspondent. Her current position as host for Access Hollywood is complemented by her work on NBC News Today, Dateline NBC, and NBC News. She was a reporter for events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. Alongside co-hosting the Pre-ShowArrivals for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. In addition, she hosted Miss USA's pageant as and the Miss Universe Pageant.
